Family Firm Institute (FFI)

Family Firm Institute

Aron Pervin has been a member of FFI since its inception two decades ago. In 2001 he became a Fellow of the institute. Aron is also a "Current Mentor" for other FFI members who are in the process of completing their Family Business Advisors Certificate Program. Aron was recently profiled in the FFI electronic newsletter, FFI Update.

Aron is also serving his second term as a Director on the FFI Ontario Chapter Board.

The Family Firm Institute (FFI) is an international professional membership organization dedicated to providing interdisciplinary education and networking opportunities for family business and family wealth advisors, consultants, educators and researchers and to increasing public awareness about trends and developments in the family business and family wealth fields.


Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD)

Aron Pervin is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and an inaugural graduate PDF Icon of the ICD Corporate Governance College - Directors Education Program.

The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a member-based organization that represents the Director community in Canada. As a member institute of the Global Director Development Circle the ICD sets the standards for Canadian Directors that are recognized both nationally and internationally. The ICD certifies directors to the community standard with the ICD.D, and educates directors through events, continuing education and formal education through its Director Education Program. The ICD also grants peerages as Fellows in the Institute.

With a view to enhancing the quality of directorships in Canada, the ICD acts as a valuable resource for public, private, crown and not-for-profit Directors, providing members with timely updates on governance trends and benchmarking tools.


Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE)

Aron Pervin has been a member of CAFÉ since its inception in the early 80's. He has delivered numerous workshops, seminars and speeches for the organization throughout Canada.

The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the well being of the family in business. It was founded in 1983 by 14 entrepreneurs, on the premise that family businesses share unique experiences, not necessarily found in non-family businesses. Over the years, CAFE has grown nationally to include 15 chapters, from Halifax to Vancouver Island.


Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CAMC)

Aron Pervin has held the CMC designation since 1987. He has delivered workshops and seminars on consulting to family firms as well as acted in a coaching and advisory capacity to other professionals who provide services to family business participants.

The Canadian Association of Management Consultants fosters excellence and integrity in the profession as a whole, and is an advocate for the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation. The Association and its members are dedicated to advancing the management consulting profession and delivering the benefits of those efforts to the client community.

Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP)

Aron Pervin has joined the Family Business Steering Committee of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).

STEP Canada is the Canadian chapter of the worldwide STEP. STEP is the leading international organization for trust and estates professionals, and members are by definition the most experienced and senior practitioners in the field. Members are involved at all levels in planning, creating and managing, and accounting for trusts and estates, as well as executorship, administration and related taxes.


Friends of Progressive Education

Aron Pervin is a Director of the Governing Board of Friends of Progressive Education.

The Toronto Estate Planning Council

Aron Pervin has been an active member for over twenty years and is an occasional speaker.

The council was established by a group of lawyers, accountants, insurance professionals and trust officers to help each other understand the myriad of rules surrounding succession planning and estate administration. The purpose of the monthly meetings is to allow the membership to openly share ideas and work experience with each other and hear noted experts in the various areas of estate planning speak on topics of interest.


Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers

In 1997, Aron Pervin was retained by the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers to create an up-to-date Successorship Manual for their members.
